This website is dedicated to a really great place — the San Fernando Valley.
SFV’s been on the receiving end of so many late-night TV jokes for decades, that it hasn’t always gotten the respect it deserves. We’re the northwest top of LA, fenced off by spectacular mountains. But whether you live here, or are just visiting for the day, The Valley’s got something for everyone in its 224 square miles.*
Seriously, we’re that big! Bigger than San Francisco or Boston. We’ve voted to secede and become our own big city, but LA voters won’t let the 1.8 million of us go. If we’d won the vote in 2005, San Fernando Valley would be the 4th largest city in America.
Here, you can be urban, cowboy, or disappear into the wilds of the mountains. Then it’s hard to believe you’re in the 2nd largest metropolitan area in the country! Join me as I go about living, working, shopping, and visiting around the Valley.

* A comment about that number — it seems nobody can agree how big the acreage of SFV really is. Every book and article has something different. The 224 square miles number comes from our national House of Representative member Brad Sherman’s website. I figure the federal government must have some accurate way of figuring this stuff out.
